One of the reasons for our inability to change is the fact that we don't believe change is possible. How many times have we thought - it might happen to others, but not to me? It's definitely much more comfortable to shrug saying "maybe that's the way I am", than change our attitude and take action.
We are many times brought into believing that change is an accident or an interruption in the natural flow of our lives. However, our bodies change every second. Adaptation is an every minute deal. We are never the same from one moment to the other.
Still, we do not believe in change. It takes some effort to realize and accept that in fact, change is our natural state of being. The human adaptability and potential is one of the most underestimated of our assets.

Whoever has ever tried any kind of change in habits has generally noticed a shift in a matter of days. To achieve permanent, significant results, you may need more than that. However, our bodies are impatient. They respond to external signals in a great hurry. If we procrastinate, they never do.
We ARE in fact made to change. It's never to late to try it, or too early for that matter. As long as we are still alive, we can steer back. It is all ours to make it happen.
